MAGNUS WHITE

Magnus was a 17-year old American teen, who was on the verge of becoming a world-class cyclist. He excelled across multiple disciplines - cyclocross, mountain biking, and road racing. He was an inspiration to so many people through how he lived his life and raced his bikes.

Magnus was a loving and cherished brother, son and grandson. Many remember him for his vibrant energy, his infectious smile, and his ability to make any room come alive. His friends often said Magnus wasn't just a friend; he was their best friend. He brought laughter, leadership, and an undying spirit of living life to the fullest. His infectious laughter and bright demeanor made him the life of any gathering. He didn't just enjoy the moment; he made it memorable. Beyond his fun-loving nature, Magnus was a blend of kindness, drive, wit, and a touch of mischief — he simply made people smile.

The full potential of who Magnus might have become remains an unanswered question that will eternally weigh on his parents' hearts. He was still a child, yet becoming a man and his transformation was evident with each passing day.

Born in California and raised in Colorado, Magnus embraced the outdoors, from cycling to skiing and hiking with his dogs, Zuma and Oslo. As he prepared for his senior year of high school, he not only excelled in his cycling career but also academically, maintaining a 4.2 GPA with a challenging curriculum aimed at future business studies.

Magnus fell in love with cycling at an early age through Boulder Junior Cycling. He proudly represented the U.S. and the Boulder community on the international stage, achieving numerous and notable victories, including the 2021 Junior 17-18 Cyclocross National Championship. He continued to race with the USA Cycling National Team, competing in two full seasons of European Cyclocross racing and representing his country and community at the 2022 and 2023 UCI Cyclocross World Championships. In the spring and summer of 2023, Magnus embarked on a new chapter, earning a spot on the US Mountain Bike World Championship team.

On July 29th, 2023 at 12:28 pm, Magnus was nearing the end of one of his last training rides before representing Team USA at the World Mountain Bike Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. He was senselessly struck and killed 15 minutes from home, by a driver from behind while wearing his USA National Team Kit.
